Schoolzine's School-based Cert III Media Traineeship
Schoolzine's traineeship is an opportunity for Schoolzine to play a role in connecting schools, students and their local community. This traineeship is designed for students with a genuine interest in journalism and online media production as a career path.
Each participating student is employed by Schoolzine as a 'roving reporter' for the school newsletter - researching content, reporting on school events, taking photos and video footage, and writing articles on a range of topics. The school has the option of allowing the trainee to 'assist' with the school newsletter production, as well as contributing content. A series of Tasks have been set by Schoolzine, which are to be completed and submitted weekly, via the trainee's personalised dashboard.
The traineeship is conducted predominantly online, with Mooloolaba TAFE as the Registered Training Organisation. The trainee will learn facets of multimedia, with a focus on journalism. Schoolzine offers the trainee the opportunity to gain valuable, paid work experience - flexible to their school commitments. Support, training and feedback will be provided by Schoolzine by phone or email, whenever necessary.
Students will be required to work for up to 7.5 hours per week, the scheduling of this time can be designated in a manner the school considers suitable for the successful candidate. Trainees that choose to pursue their career pathway with Schoolzine, are also eligible for the Schoolzine Scholarship Program!
